Graduation Requirements
CLASS OF 2015 and BEYOND GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS (from CCSD Board Policy IHF-R)
- English: 4 units in English/Language Arts (must include 9th Lit. and American Lit.)
- Math: 4 units in Mathematics (Math Support classes do NOT count toward these 4 units; must include GSE Algebra I, GSE Geometry I and GSE Algebra II)
- Science: 4 units in Science (must include Biology, Physics or Physical Science and Environmental Science or Chemistry)
- Social Studies: 3 units (must include World History, US History, American Government 0.5 and Economics 0.5)
- Health and Personal Fitness: 1 unit (Health 0.5/Personal Fitness 0.5)
- Career Tech, Fine Arts, and/or World Language: 3 Units
- Electives: 4 Units
TOTAL: 23
*Please note that there is ONE diploma type for the class of 2012 and beyond*
*Entrance into 4 year colleges and universities requires at least 2 or more consecutive years of a world language*
**Promotion Requirements (from CCSD Board Policy IHE-R)
- Freshman to Sophomore: 5 units, including one full credit each of state required or core coursework in Mathematics, Science, and English Language Arts.
- Sophomore to Junior: 10 units, including two full units each of state required or core coursework in Mathematics, Science, and English Language Arts
- Junior to Senior: Must have earned 16 credits and be on track for graduation
